CHAT RULES

Quote:

General chat rules — in-character channel (normal chat, /s, /l) and out-of-character local channel (/b)

No Metagaming. In-character dialogues should be totally independent from out-of-character dialogues.

Internet terms (such as "lol", "lmao", "wtf", "ffs") are not allowed on the IC chat.
Out-of-character messages ("hello admin!", "make me hunted", "i got killed") should not be sent in IC chat - use OOC chat (/b) instead.
The usage of brackets at the end of the message "))" in some channels indicate OOC speech.
Abbreviations may be allowed in the IC chat, as long as they're in-character (such as "MW" for Most Wanted).
Any sort of offense said through OOC chat (/b) is not considered an IC reason to start any kind of situation.
Do not use any URL shortener to share links. Use the actual link instead.

Speak English. English is the official language of our community.

Speaking foreign languages is allowed through the local OOC channel (/b).
Foreign languages are not allowed in-character (IC). Foreign words and phrases are permitted (to roleplay speaking a foreign language ICly, use [Insert Language] in the IC chat).
Public channels (such as /newb and /g) are restricted to English only.

No Spamming. All forms of spam (repeated messages, repeated letters, random symbols, upper case) are forbidden.

Sending several similar chat messages may also lead to a punishment, depending on the context.
Spamming commands that appear publicly in chat (such as /dice) may also lead to a punishment, depending on the context.
There is an exception for gang members (and gang members only) participating in point while it is active.

Quote:

Private messaging (/sms, /w)

/sms and /w are in-character (IC). You're permitted to use these channels for OOC messaging, but we recommend that you use closed brackets "))" at the end of your message to indicate an OOC context.

You may not use /phonebook to SMS another player ICly unless you know their name ICly.
These commands can be toggled by using /togphone and /togwhisper respectively.
You are permitted to use abbreviations over SMS; for example: 'wtf' or 'omw', since it's a phone text message.

Global channels (/g, /dc, /o, /ec, /tec)

Global channels are out-of-character (OOC). As said before, it's mandatory to only speak English in these channels.

You are not allowed to advertise roleplay items, events or services on these channels. If you want to buy/sell stuff, use /ads instead.
You are not allowed to sell/buy accounts through the global channels.
You are not allowed to call backup, or ask for in-character help, through the global channels (OOC backup).
You are not allowed to notify other players about a capper (even though point is OOC, do not say "capper" on /g).
Do not use the global channels for in-character purposes anyhow (such as calling players to bet you in the Casino).

Community help channels (/newb /c /hc)

Community help channels are out-of-character (OOC). Their purpose is to provide assistance for newcomers & players with questions about the game script, or the game rules.

You may use the /newb channel for questions & answers only. You may send a question/answer each 15 seconds.
Do not advertise items through these channels. Do not use these channels for any sort of in-character purposes.
Do not engage in conversations through the /newb channel. Question -> answer, simply.
/newb answers should be answered on /newb. Do not answer them in the Global Chat. Respect the cool-down.
All forms of /newb abuse may lead to a mute. This channel is taken very seriously.
Providing false answers through the /newb channel may lead to a mute, depending on the situation.
Do not use any URL shortener to share links. Use the actual link instead.

Advertisement channel (/ads)

The advertisement channel is strictly in-character (IC). This channel is the main form of advertising in-game items.

Any form of OOC speech is forbidden. The usage of brackets may also lead to a mute.
Roleplayed advertisements of illegal products may result in Police Charges.
You are allowed to organize in-character events ("party at Zhao Yhang's house!") & share services ("Blackjack bets in the Casino, come!") through the advertisement channel. Using OOC channels (such as /g) for these purposes may be deemed Metagaming and lead to a fine/mute.
This channel supports HEX colors (such as "{FFFFFF}"). Check this guide for instructions.
Do not advertise items that can't be sold in-game, such as books or movies.

Faction radio channels (/d, /r)

Faction radio channels are in-character (IC). These channels are important for faction communication.

These channels can be used for every sort of faction communication, and each faction may enforce specific rules.
Using brackets to indicate OOC speech on the faction radio (/r) may be tolerated or not, depending on the faction.
Some factions may require you to use a private radio frequency to communicate in OOC speech (/pr) instead.
The department radio (/d) must be absolutely clean from metagaming, spamming & even OOC speech: avoid it at all costs.

Family channels (/f, /pr, /cr)

The family chat (/f) is deemed out-of-character (OOC). It may be used for communication & organization between family members.

Do not use the family chat (/f) to call for backup. Use /fbackup and a private radio (/pr) frequency instead.
Any forms of spam may still lead to a punishment, and are not allowed.
The same rules from the family chat (/f) are applied to the crew chat (/cr).
You may be allowed to speak foreign languages in these OOC channels, but your family leaders may request administrative intervention if necessary.
The private radio (/pr) is deemed in-character. Spamming and metagaming through it is not allowed.

Broadcasting channels (/gov, /m, /nr, /live)

Broadcasting channels are strictly in-character (IC). These commands should be used with caution, as several players may receive such chat messages.

The /gov command may only be used when a department has important announcements to make.
The megaphone (/m) should only be used ICly, such as in vehicle chases and roleplay events.
Every text sent in any of these chats should be properly written in English and easily understood.
The abuse of any of these commands (metagaming, spamming, non-roleplay behavior) may lead to a severe punishment.

Report channel (/report, /rdm, /reply)

This OOC channel is used for communication between players and administrators. It's a serious channel and should be used wisely. You may find reporting tips (/reporttips) in-game.

Use the /report command to report situations actively occurring in-game: rulebreaking, hacking, bugs and any sort of issues that require administrative assistance.
For situations not actively occurring in-game, as when the accused player is not online anymore, you might want to post a Complaint instead.
Use the DM report command (/rdm ID) to report deathmatchers.
Use /reply to speak with the administrator resolving your report. Speak English and do not spam administrators over this channel.
Hackers may or may not be dealt with immediately, depending on the scenario. If found hacking, they will be banned on sight. If the accused player is acting suspicious, he may be investigated. Any sort of evidence can be forwarded in a Hacking Complaint.
Avoid contacting administrators if helpers are available and able to assist you with your issue. Use /newb and /requesthelp.
Tell the truth. False reports may lead not only to a mute, but to severe punishment for providing false statements.

Appealing mutes

When you break any of these rules, you may be muted. If you have been muted on a channel, proceed as the following.

If muted on /g, /dc or /report, you must wait for your mute to be lifted. This can take from 15 minutes to a day.
If muted from /newb or /ads, you must /report for an unmute. Admins will then decide whether you receive an unmute proposal or not.
If your mute is taking over a day to be lifted, you may be permanently muted. Then post an Administrative Request informing you're permanently muted, explaining the date and reasons of such mute, and why would you like to be given another chance after breaking the rule several times.

WARNING! Violating any of these rules may lead to several forms of punishment (mutes, fines, imprisonments).

Hello, friends. You may have at some point asked- what makes an in-character reason sufficient to attack or kill another player? In this thread, we will seek to clarify that for you with a few examples.

Regarding Dicebets:

- You may not attack another player simply for winning a dicebet against you and taking your money, be it $1,000 or $1,000,000.

- You may attack the player if they insult you ICly afterward regarding the dicebet. “Haha, I won” is not an insult.

Regarding Job Vehicles:

- You may not attack another player for taking your vehicle that was just used to deliver (trucker, etc.) unless it is the last one of its kind.

- You may not attack another player after jacking their truck unless they attempt to re-jack it or attack you first. You may not kill them for the reason "I didn't want them to call the cops" or anything else along those lines.

Regarding Car Accidents:

- You may not purposely cause a car accident with the intention of killing the other driver(s) involved.

Regarding Spam:

- You may not attack another player simply for spamming.

- You may attack another player for spamming if you’ve engaged them ICly and have told them to stop, and they continue.

Regarding Mini-Games:

- You may not attack a player for anything that is said or done inside of a mini-game- including but not limited to: Paintball, Hunger Games, Christmas mini-games.

- You may attack another player if they insult you or give you in-character reason in the world outside.

Regarding Personal Vehicles:

- You may attack players who take your personal vehicle, even if you left it unlocked.

- You may not leave your car unlocked in a public area and then camp it with the intention of attacking anyone who attempts to use it.

Regarding Medics:

- You may not attack a medic who is saving your enemy unless you or your gang/allies are the ones who downed them, and you give the Medic a warning with at least 10 seconds to respond to your RP first.

Regarding Telling Someone to Leave an Area:

- You may not attack a player for refusing to leave a public place.

- You may attack a player if they refuse to leave a private location such as a house, Gang HQ or interior that you are the owner of.

Note: These are merely examples, and are not rules themselves. As with everything, whether or not a situation is punishable will be up to the discretion of an Administrator. As a rule of thumb; use your common sense- unless you have an actual valid IC reason to attack someone, refrain from trying to find a loophole to kill them anyway.

POINT RULES

Points are Out of Character (OOC) fights that occur between Gangs in specific locations.

Offense	Description	Punishment
Shooting before Point	Point officially begins 15 minutes before available capture (XX:45). Robbing and similar in-character interactions, where you forcibly attempt to involve someone in an interaction (e.g. by counting to 10s and shooting them for failure to comply with robbery), as a means to influence point outcome before point begins, are invalid reasons to shoot before XX:45 if point rules apply	Prison 60 minutes
Shooting after Point	Point ends as soon as the Point is captured and all shooting must stop immediately.	Prison 60 minutes
Shooting out of Boundaries	Gang members cannot shoot players outside of Point boundaries (other than chasing out or snipers/country rifles). Gang members cannot shoot from outside of point boundaries towards the inside of boundaries with any weapon other than snipers and country rifles. Sniper Rifles and Country Rifles may be used outside of boundaries to shoot into bounds or at other snipers. Gang members need to visually see or frisk a sniper on a player in order to shoot them out of boundaries. You may shoot at your own risk if another gang member has established that they have a sniper. In addition to the other exceptions stated above a player sniping into Pbounds is permitted to shoot another player that is outside of pbounds if that person has aimed OR fired a weapon at them. Wearing non-gang Skin	Gang members must wear their respective Gang skins at Point.	Prison 30 minutes

Plane bombing	Flying any aircraft type into an active point or point regroup with the intention to bombard the attending members is strictly not allowed.	Prison 1-2 hours Warn Ban Depending on Severity
Car Bombing	Intentionally setting fire to any vehicle with the purpose of damaging or disrupting the attending members within or near an active point or a point regroup.	Prison 1-2 hours Warn Ban Depending on Severity
Aircraft Ramming	Gang members are allowed to ram other aircraft while mid-air or ram players off roofs during point wars.
Metagaming	Gang members are allowed to metagame when they are participating in an active point. This includes metagaming over a participating gang's private frequency.
Spamming	Gang members are allowed to spam, for point purposes, over both IC and OOC channels only when they are participating in a point. Useless spam, such as trying to disrupt others, will still be punished.
Healing in Gunfights	Gang members are allowed to heal in gunfights during Point.
Use of /frisk	Gang members are allowed to /frisk without roleplay within sight of Point boundaries. If a Sniper or Country Rifle is found on the frisked player, they can be attacked. Players can attack players frisking them.
Revenge Killing	Gang members are allowed to return to Points after dying (Revenge Killing rules do not apply).
Kill on Sight	Gang members are allowed to kill other Gang members within the Point boundary without interaction.

The 10 second rule still applies whilst in a car chase (If you attempt to rob someone who is actively driving a car, you must give them 10 seconds to respond before assuming they are attempting to escape).

Kidnapping

Kidnapping is allowed for the following reasons:

To harm or kill them (if you have an In-Character reason);
To bait somebody else to your location; *
To hold at ransom (if nobody reacts to the kidnapping, the victim may not be killed); *
To gain a legal (Law Enforcement) concession, for example kidnapping a Police Officer in order for LEOs to free your arrested friend.

* = You are not allowed to kidnap for this reason in a public place.

Kidnapping may not be used to take somebody to a private place to rob them, and may not be used as a reason to kill someone if they fail to comply whilst in a public place if you do not already have a reason to kill them (if you are kidnapping somebody in a private place and they refuse to co-operate, you may kill them - these are the same rules as robbery rules).

This thread will be a information thread about our policy against scammers and what we do when someone scam or get scammed.
In this thread all questions regarding our scam policy will be answered. Do you miss a question or a answer? Feel free to PM the Complaint Managers.

Questions:

Q: What is the scam limit?
A: The scam limit is $10,000. Any scam below the scam limit will be marked as in characterly.

Q: I have paid someone with in-game cash to import a item, after 7 days I haven’t received the item, can I get my money back?
A: No, if you haven’t followed our Admin Middleman guide you won’t be refunded your money. We will ban the importer for Donation Scamming and remove the players money & materials.

Q: I reported 5 times for a Admin Middleman but haven’t received a answer, I decided to continue with the import deal. If the importer scams me, will I be refunded?
A: No, no refund will be issued as you haven’t followed our Admin Middleman guide. Please be patient & wait till a Admin Middleman will assist you. If the evidence is valid, the scammer will be banned for Donation Scamming and we will remove the players money & materials.

Q: A player scammed materials of me, can I get the materials refunded?
A: This all depends what you have done prior to the scam.

Examples:
#1 - You are selling materials but you have not used the command to sell the materials, the scam complaint will be marked as invalid.

#2 – A player is offering you 20,000 materials for $40,000 and a few seconds later he offers you 2,000 materials for $40,000. In this case we will take action against the scammer because they are not being honest about the deal.

#3 – You've typed /accept mats twice, therefor confirming you will buy that amount of mats for that amount of cash. the scam complaint will be marked as invalid.

Q: I paid real life cash as trade for in-game cash, it turns out that it was scammed cash, will I get my real life money refunded?
A: No, we will not refund real life cash. We won’t deal with the scam other then punishing the player who scammed you. The same goes for selling in-game cash for real life cash, we will not refund you.

Q: Can I request a Admin Middleman for my in character deal, such as: weapon deals or business trades?
A: For a unknown amount of time, Admins will now involve themselves in being an Middleman during Business trades. As for weapon deals or any other in-character deals, we do not interfene being an Middleman.

Q: I got scammed because I didn’t used the right commands for the deal, such as: /sellmats & /sellmycar, will I get refunded?
A: No, you will not get refunded. The commands are there for a reason, if you don’t use them it will be your own responsibility.

Q: I was dicebetting and someone asked me to play a game of “Blackjack”, will I get the money refunded if the host didn’t give me the cash while I won the game?
A: No, if you want to dicebet use the command for it. We don’t refund your cash.

Q: Can I get fined because I gambled with a scammer who’s losing scammed cash?
A: Yes, you can get fined if the scammer have no cash and the path leads to you. You are indirectly involved and the scammed cash have to been taken out of the economy. No further action will be taken against you.

Q: My scam complaint got resolved but I won’t get the amount refunded what got scammed of me, can I get the rest of the amount refunded aswell?
A: Depends on if the cash is traceable or not. If we can’t track the money or the right amount of cash we will only refund you the amount that we have found.

Example:
#1 – If you got scammed for $600,000 and you only receive $570,000 it means that the $30,000 was untraceable and therefor not refundable.

Q: I sold my car for $1 because we was trading cars, the player ran off with my car, can I get my car back?
A: No, if you really MUST trade your car, then we ask that you use the /sellmycar command and make the price above the scam limit. At which point if you're scammed, the scam complaint is to the scam moderators discretion.

Q: I was banned for scamming, I'm sorry, when will I get unbanned?
A: Your ban will be treated as a "Major Offence Ban", you check that here
